An effort to develop the export of garden products and promote renewable energies
The second specialized exhibition of horticulture, greenhouses, inputs, irrigation, equipment and related industries in Isfahan ended on the evening of February 18 after four days of activity. The exhibition, which began last Thursday, welcomed enthusiasts and activists in the field of agriculture from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. every day. The first edition of the exhibition was held last year at the same location, the Permanent Center for International Exhibitions of Isfahan Province.
In the second edition of the iFarm Isfahan exhibition, 82 booths were set up with the presence of 116 participants, while the space of the exhibition hall was such that there was still capacity for setting up more booths and it seems that only 80 percent of the total exhibition space was filled. The reception of the exhibition was relatively good, and this led to the satisfaction of the exhibitors. Some exhibitors who were also present in the first edition of the exhibition believe that the level of reception in this edition was higher and more crowded than last year. This shows that the Isfahan iFarm exhibition is growing and if this trend continues, there is a possibility of its successful holding even in 1404.
Although the Isfahan iFarm exhibition was not international and all the stands were completed by Iranian producers, the presence of 52 foreign delegations from Armenia, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Mauritania as visitors provided a good export environment for the exhibition. In this regard, one of the important axes of the exhibition was paying attention to export markets, export of horticultural products, greenhouse technical-engineering services, as well as export of technological products in the fields of renewable energies and modern irrigation.
The exhibition was opened by Mehrdad Moradmand, Head of the Agricultural Jihad Organization of Isfahan Province, and Hamed Yazdian, Member of the Agricultural Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly. On the second day, Mohammad Mehdi Boromandi, Deputy Minister of Horticulture of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, also visited the exhibition and, in a meeting with the horticultural managers and the deputies for improving plant production, reviewed the national strategies for the production and export of horticultural products and water efficiency.
The exhibition hosted meetings between foreign delegations and Iranian producers, with a space set aside for meetings and negotiations in the export sector. Other side events of the exhibition included specialized meetings and training workshops. Among these programs was a specialized meeting on sustainable electricity for greenhouses and agricultural wells using solar energy, which attracted a lot of attention.
An event called the unveiling of “certified seedlings” was also held on the sidelines of the exhibition. In order to certify garden products, the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad pays special attention to the use of certified or blue-label seedlings instead of anonymous and traditional seedlings. At the exhibition, the certified micro-grafted seedlings introduced by Fajr Isfahan Company had features such as a 50 percent reduction in water consumption and a reduction in fruiting time. This seedling has reduced the fruiting time from two years to one year.
The topic of renewable energies and their use in farms, greenhouses and agricultural wells was also one of the important themes of the exhibition. Booths were dedicated to companies producing green electricity generation equipment and renewable energies, which, in line with the policies of the country and the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, are trying to transfer electricity consumption in these sectors to renewable energies.
The specialized exhibition of gardening, greenhouses, inputs and irrigation, with the aim of introducing domestic capabilities in the field of gardening and greenhouses, creating suitable opportunities for operators and applicants for greenhouse construction, was held from February 15 to 18 of this year at the permanent site of Isfahan Province Exhibitions, and finally, with more than five thousand visitors, the file for the second edition of this event was closed.
