Basra Delegation Visits Isfahan Steel and Metallurgy Exhibition, Strengthening Economic Cooperation

A high-level political and economic delegation from Basra Governorate, Iraq, headed by Mr. Khalaf Lafta Athafa Al-Badran, Chairman of the Basra Provincial Council, visited the Isfahan Steel and Metallurgy Exhibition.

The delegation included members of the Basra Provincial Council and senior representatives from various economic and professional sectors in Basra, including the President of the Basra Traders Union, President of the Basra Electrical and Electronics Contractors Union, Vice President of the Basra Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Basra Development and Reconstruction Committee, President of the Basra Association of Travel and Tourism Companies, Chairman of the Basra Youth and Sports Committee, and Chairman of the Agriculture Committee of the Basra Provincial Council.

The delegation also included prominent economic and business representatives active in investment, tourism, construction, and industry, accompanied by Mr. Mousavi, President of the Khorramshahr Chamber of Commerce.

Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Basra Provincial Council and Isfahan Chamber of Commerce

During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Basra Provincial Council and the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, marking an important step toward expanding economic and commercial relations between the two regions.

The agreement focuses on several key areas of cooperation, including:

  • Expanding economic and trade cooperation between Basra and Isfahan
  • Organizing the exchange and reception of business and trade delegations
  • Promoting and facilitating investment opportunities
  • Developing cooperation in industry, construction, tourism, and other economic sectors
  • Organizing specialized business and economic events in Basra and Isfahan

The visit and signing of the MoU represent a significant opportunity to deepen economic relations between Iraq’s Basra Governorate and Iran’s Isfahan Province, while creating new opportunities for businesses, investors, contractors, traders, and industry professionals from both sides.

The two sides expressed their commitment to strengthening direct business-to-business relations and creating a platform for sustainable trade, investment, and joint economic initiatives between Basra and Isfahan.
